Product Usage

When to use: 

Use BEFORE infection begins at Infection Triggers or use as needed for regular maintenance (every other day).

Infection Triggers:

• After a bowel movement
• After sexual activity
• Throughout your menstrual cycle
• Urinary leakage

Instructions for use:

• Wash hands before and after applying the cream.
• Squeeze cream onto your fingertips (see Fig. 1 below). Best Use Tip: We suggest using at least a dime size amount.
• Apply generously all over the vulva including the urethra (see Fig. 2 below). Most UTIs are caused by E. coli entering the urethra, so it is important to cover the urethral opening.
• Use as often as needed. Best Use Tip: We suggest using at least every other day.

Usage instructions - women

When to Use:

Use BEFORE infection begins at Infection Triggers or use as needed for regular maintenance.

Infection Triggers:

• After sexual activity 
• Throughout your menstrual cycle
• When it’s sweaty or damp downstairs 
• After eating a ton of sweets or carbs
• During a stressful day
• After antibiotic use
• During hormonal changes
• DO NOT use during an active infection (use FemiClear for BV Symptoms or Yeast Infection Symptoms for active infections)

Instructions for Use:

• Wash hands before and after use. Best Use Tip: To protect your clothing, you may want to use deodorant-free pads or panty liners while you are using FemiClear.
• To open the tube, unscrew the cap (see Fig. 1 below). Remove the white seal from the top of the tube (see Fig. 2 below).
• Take the cap off the top of the applicator. Remove the plunger from the back of the applicator.
• Put the tip of the tube inside of the back of the applicator and squeeze desired amount of the cream into applicator. (see Fig. 3 below). Best Use Tip: Not sure how much to use? We suggest filling the applicator with 1-2 inches of product. (see Fig. 4 below).
• Put the plunger back in applicator and with gentle pressure slowly push the cream down into the tip of the applicator. Be careful to not let any leak out of the tip of applicator.
• Gently insert the applicator into your vagina as far back as it will go comfortably (see Fig. 5 below).
• With one hand holding the barrel of applicator, use the other hand to push the plunger into the barrel as far as it will go. Remove the applicator from the vagina.
• Clean applicator after use and reuse. Best Use Tip: Suggest using hot water and a gentle soap (like FemiClear Soothing Daily Wash)
• Reuse as needed. Best Use Tip: We suggest using at least every other day.

Usage instructions - Male partners of women with bv

When to Use:

Protection During an Active BV Infection:

If you are experiencing an active BV Infection and are using FemiClear for BV Symptoms (or other solution), your male partner should use Infection Protection twice daily for 7 days. We suggest in the morning and before bed. Do not have sex while using FemiClear. It is important to give the infection time to clear.

Ongoing Protection:

Use as needed and at infection triggers. We suggest having your male partner use it any time you do! See above section “Women: When to Use.”

Instructions for Use:

• Wash hands before and after use. 
• Squeeze desired amount into palm
• Apply generously to penis, thoroughly covering all skin and rub in until absorbed. Be sure to apply under foreskin if not circumcised.

• Repeat steps 1 through 7 with a new applicator before bedtime on the following day.
